I think it's also worth noting - at least as of the commentary I heard last night on NPR - that in all likelihood, the salary caps as proposed today would only apply to senior execs, and that the (vast) majority of those receiving insane compensation - particularly the high-flying bonuses - may in fact continue to receive them, as many would not be senior execs within the company, just very successful investment managers and analysts. If this is the case, then the caps aren't going nearly far enough.
