How likely is it that they would post a video of that? Seriously, I think their subscribers get some kind of automated/manual alarm system these days. They don't even know about fires that don't happen to their customers. And a lot of their customers are special districts[1] and small municipalities. Also, the municipal fire fighters will stand by and watch a building burn if they judge that the fire is so far advanced that the risk to life outweighs the likely benefit. There was a case recently where the fire department learned that there were hazardous chemicals in a building that caught on fire. They just evacuated the neighborhood. [1] Special districts funded by property taxes are big in the US where the function of the district can be tied to specific real estate. We have flood control districts, mosquito abatement districts, irrigation districts, etc. --- Just because they're good at propaganda doesn't mean we have to be good at stupid. -Marty Kaplan _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
