Hmm. Thank you Chris.
The first thing I tried was to install the 3ivx codec and play it in Quicktime.
This worked, but not useful for AppleTV.
So I found that one can save the avi as a .mov container file. Copy that .mov
container to iTunes.
But it won't copy to iTunes.
The .mov container works in Quicktime.
But doesn't copy to iTunes. Even adding it manually to the iTunesmedia/movies
folder doesn't work.
The only other option I see is to set up some strange server app to serve
it…and I haven't looked into that option very closely yet, mainly because I'd
prefer to avoid that if possible.
Meanwhile, have converted the file with Handbrake and am ready to go.
But if you or anyone has a good workable solution, even a server recomendation.
I have a pc running Windows 7/Ultimate 64 bit
An iPad 2
Powerbook with Lion
Apple TV
There must be a good way to share all of these various files and stream them to
Apple TV

Thanks again,
Jeff
