Thanks for the response.  The child I am working with is very low level
(doesn't sit without mod-max support, is NPO, low tone trunk, poor postural
control, can't maintain static balance, etc).  The only really purposeful
thing he does with his "good" hand is grab things to bring them to his
mouth.  The abnormal tone in his involved UE is increasing and he only has
slight active shoulder flexion at this time.  The neglect of the involved
side has improved and he crosses midline with the right UE.  I am doing
weightbearing and hand over hand activities with the left UE as well as
bilateral activities, some PROM with hands laced.  I have been encouraging
the "hold and do" toys, but frankly I am getting discouraged because I have
been working with him for six months with not much progress in any of his
deficit areas.  It is a sad case; I guess I just hoped for him to get more
function back.   Thanks again for the suggestions.
