Our Medicare (socialized medicine in US for all over 65) pays for a bedside commode, and that is about all for bathroom stuff. Medicaid ( which is means tested and some elderly people get both Medicare and Medicaid ) will pay for a shower seat, but I can't get the good rubbermaid kind, only the metal leg kind, and I hate those, so I don't use it. I can get a bathboard through medicaid and I do use those sometimes. I either ask the clients to pay for the equipment if I think they can, or I pay for it myself, or I have been able to get a lot of equipment paid for by the arthritis foundation. I have to have a formed signed by MD specifiying what type of arthritis, but it does not have to be the primary diagnosis. -- JodyThat sounds very restrictive. What about adaptations, though? Who pays for stair lifts, ramps, level access showers for wheelchair users and so on? ******************** Unsubscribe by sending a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the message's body, put the following text: unsubscribe OTlist ------ OTnow messages are archived at: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] (and) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] ********rC***********
