Yes, but keep in mind that Wendy said her clients were the "well elderly."
Certainly not everyone is going to be able to eat every food item, but I
would think we can reasonably assume the patients would be responsible and
cognitive enough not to eat something they should not, whether it be because
of difficultly chewing, a medical condition, allergy, or whatever. Dried
fruit could get stuck in someone's dentures. Raisins could cause cavities.
A lot of snacks will have high sugar / carbohydrate content. But we can't
protect everybody from every potential harm! She is not talking about
feeding this food to her clients, but simply having a little display in the
waiting room in case those who would like a snack can select one.
Is there really a "perfect" food that would be completely safe, nutritious,
and delicious for everyone? Probably not : )
