Ron,
I am writing on a couple of issues but I would first like to introduce myself
to the list serve. My name is Ryan and I am an Occupational Therapy Student.
You may have read a short essay of mine recently that was titled "OT from
the Heart, A Student Perspective."

Yesterday Ron posed a couple assumptions and then asked a few questions
following them. One of the members wrote in response, to not pose assumptions
that they serve little purpose. What I am concerned about is that there my
be a little complacency in the profession. Does anyone think this may be
true? In my opinion, we must always ask questions about our profession,
strive to better ourselves as OT's, and constantly analyze the direction of
the profession. I guess this list serve is an excellent way of doing that.

I would also like some advice. I am shadowing at a Mental Health facility
one day a week and was asked by one of the mental health counselors to lead a
group tx session during my next visit. The reason I think he asked me to do
a tx session for next Thurs. is b/c I was "jawing" in his ear all mourning
how the Day Tx program should have an OT on staff, and how beneficial it
would be for some of the pts to be pursuing some of their lost occupations.
So, in his curiosity of what OT is, he asked me to do a group tx next visit.

I somehow want to keep my tx session client centered, but how do you achieve
this in a group tx session?

Ryan
