In pkgsrc, libotr is simply libotr. Two questions:
will just libotr.pc be installed, but with the new versions? If so, I
don't see any reason to call this libotr5, but rather just libotr.
Is there any reason to have both the old version and the new version
simultaneously packaged? It seems the only real user of libotr is
pidgin-otr, and hopefully
a) the new library is API-compatible, so callers of the old lib can
be just recompiled, and
b) the new library can interoperate with the old library (at the old
version), so that pidgin users with new bits can still talk to
users with the old bits
Are those assumptions correct?
