I checked a bunch of public DNS resolvers -- only OpenDNS responded to an A
record for facebook.com.

I don't know how many domains are facebook has within their family, but
besides the obvious ones for FaceBook, WhatsApp, and Instagram,
status.fb.com and workplace.com also don't resolve.

Nah; that's NANOG; we don't require you to have your own BGP table as
the price of admission over here.
