Sean, There are successful users of all thos distributions.
I use SuSE, which clearly works for versions 8.1 8.2 9.0 9.1 9.2 9.3 10.0 ... I believe Fedora has built the libraries as libow.0.0.0 instead of libow.so.0.0.0 or whatever. A simple rename fixed that. Perhaps my success has been from my mode of installation. I usually get the source package from the website and build. In fact, the bootable version is on DSL, a debian/knoppix derivative. libusb.sf.net fuse.sf.net owfs.sf.net If you want to use packages, you will probably need the "devel" package, which includes the relavant header files so the owfs build knows the internal structures of libusb and fuse. Which distribution do you like? I'd choose that and let us help you get it going. I know there are active users of fedora, debian, slackware, suse and gentoo. I've also had success with ubantu in the past.
