It's been hard to justify changing anything until we had test networks that could be compared.
I'll add it in, at least temporarily, add a command line flag, and package it up.
In the long run there are 3 cases:
1. Old time best
2. New timking best
3. Varies by network.
If #3, I really would like a way to autodetect and automatically adjust the timings. I always hated programs with dozens of obscure cammand line options.
