What sort of integration are you talking about here? voltage sampling? sounds
interesting
DAC is a higher-level function mapped onto lowlevel features (see my previous
email).
Can you explain the bidir counter/quadrature concept? i'm not familliar with
that

sorry, i used the DS2490 as an example (since that's what owfs calls it), but
really what i'm after is making a DS9490R clone
For someone handy with electronics, making a (set of) 9490s should be quite
cheap, depending on code size. An ATTiny45 could probably handle it. Just a few
external components should be sufficient to make the clone. (2-4 diodes, 1 cap
and some connectors. Who doesn't have an old usb mouse or KB they can scavenge
the cable from?)
