There are many utilities that can send serial data over the network. This
will be transparent to owfs.
E.g. socat http://www.dest-unreach.org/socat/doc/socat-ttyovertcp.txt
ser2net http://sourceforge.net/projects/ser2net/
etc...
If the programs will work with your serial device is an easy matter to test.
At worst, we can add direct support in owfs.
