If we are talking about cables - how you use UTP cable? Let me explain

THere are 3 wires has to be used (or two in parasite mode- but in this case
it is not a question :)  - what you use as a "stand alon" wire?
In my current installation I use a twisted pair for GND and Data, and use a
separate for VCC. I read the design document, but I cannot remember any
recommendation about the "orphan" wire...

(I use GND and Data twistid by the following logic: Data has to be in the
twist, no question. VCC is optional, so I left it alone...
Another option was to use the VCC and GND together in twist (as they are
similar), but they do not generate noise as they are constant voltages -
not like data...)

Am I good?

Plus - do you use any additional hardware filtering when a sensor is
connecting to the bus? Documentation mentiones a schottky diode and a
ferrit bed/resistor. Are they required for a 30m long bus, 15 sensors?

I would like to build a reliable, but easy bus.
