I have a similar problem with RemObject Hydra Delphi plugins (http://www.remobjects.com/hydra/).
Outside of VS2010 it works fine . In debug in vs2010 the plugin does not always work correctly. I reported this back to RemObjects they said they had not observed this and they wanted me to build an example. I might when I have some spare time.
