This advice was given to a mother, and the person who gave her this advice contacted me and said they didn't feel it was unreasonable to suggest this. Some gentle and diplomatic communication was necessary, and I hope the advice won't be given again. You are right Denise - no understanding of the physiology of breastmilk....

abnd who ever advised this does not understand about the physiological make up of breast milk like those who swab mastitic breasts.
At ABA conference presentation on b/f in art there was a cartoon of boiling the breast - taking sterilisation too far perhaps this is related?
