For those wondering... I was approached by a midwife questioning how
often a woman in my practice would require a stitch after giving
birth... When I told her that it was about 
1 : 20, she shook her head saying she didn't think it was possible... I
went on to say that some women had small tears which were left
unsutured..of those stitched very few were near episisotomy size  and
none were third degree... She looked incredulous and finally
declared..." well the area I work in has a lot of Asian perineums!!"

I inquired as to whether these perineums were attached to Asian women?
