In fact there was a segment on this on ABC 7.30 report. What happened in WA was that the dept of justice raided the held neonatal screening test cards got dna from babies, mothers of babies and father(grandfather) of babies and was able to prosecute the man for sexual abuse of his daughters but proving he was the father of his daughters children....
For good or for bad, this got everyone thinking that this was not a use of these neonatal screening that was consented to and so now after 2 years the cards are destroyed in WA.. over east there is a very nice data bank of DNA just waiting to be used.
