Thanks, I have been trying the DCL option doing the following:
1. Create a document library on the top-level site named "Data Connections" using the Data Connection Library template. 2. In InfoPath, create your data connection to the SharePoint list in the top-level site. 3. In the Data Connections dialog, use the Convert button to save the connection details to a data connection (.UDCX) file stored in the Data Connections document library. 4. Save the Data Connections document library as a list template, with the Include Content option checked. 5. On each subsite, create the Data Connections library using the saved list template. Make sure the document library has the same name on each site. 6. Edit the UDCX file in each subsite to specify the correct site URL and list GUID for the list in that particular site. However the form still looks at the original top-level .udcx file, is there soemthign else that needs to be done? The DataConnectionLibrary can be created on every site you want. The same form will look for the corresponding DataConnectionLibrary on the site. Just hit "Convert" button in InfoPath data connection. Another alternative is to use Sharepoint web service such has /_vti_bin/lists.asmx. However this project site is template up and a new one is created for every project.
