Yep. AvePoint is da bomb. While BackupExec is a bomb. I use a single batch file to keep my environments matched for migration purposes. Feed it the relevant URL and it adds/deploys solutions and force activates certain features. I love it. Just need to remember to keep it up-to-date. :)

We had some earlier issues which were due to the fact that there where specific features activated in one environment and not the other. You just need to ensure that the farm being backed up has the same features installed and enabled as the destination farm. We also use BackupExec with the SharePoint agent for item level recovery this works ok but it doesn't backup and restore the meta data associated with an item which is a massive flaw. If you need item level recovery and you're not on a tight budget I would look at AvePoint I've heard allot of good things. It seems the article contradicts itself? Has anyone had issues with site collection backups with 15GB or more?
