everytime the ip address changes, you have to detect that, and re-configure. 
Once the ip address changes, nothing will work anyway, and you start getting 
errors when you read/write to your sockets.
   
  even with dsl, your ip address can/will change. usually 24 hours, but, 
sometimes even quicker.
