Folks: This Ubic Conf thing kind of bothers me. I think it might be automated spam for CFPs. A few months ago I publicly queried how people felt about CFPs on this list, and the answers were mixed, but the majority of people preferred not to see CFPs on this list. At the time I think I offered to set up a separate list just for announcements, but today I don't feel like going to the effort to do that (I hurt my leg and I'm laid up in bed and there are a zillion other things I'd rather be doing on my laptop than administering an announcement list), so instead I'm just going to start putting people on "Moderated" status if they post CFPs and then if they seem like people who actually read and post to this list and if the CFPs seem sufficiently relevant then I'll let them through.
