Did I sound like pushing for comments? :) I didn't mean to :)

Yes the docs API spec is needed. there is none now. and I really want to 
start releasing the new mod_perl 2.0 docs online, but will wait til 
things stabilize.

I've just added the documentation for the currently supported by DocSet 
config file (perl). and while writing it I thought that we need to 
abstract it so other fellas with XML itches and what not can use their 
preferred config file format. In fact one should be able to mix these.

But let's discuss these issues on the docset-template mailing list.
