Hi All,

We're having some intermittent issues with the captive portal on our
PacketFence installation (6.2.1).

We're intermittently getting the "Your computer was not found in the
Packetfence database" when machines are placed in the Registration vlan and
redirected to the captive portal.

I've included an example below, machine in question here is b8:6b:23:53:16:b7 :

Mar 31 15:31:47 pfqueue(17607) INFO: [mac:unknown] DHCPREQUEST from
b8:6b:23:53:16:b7 (10.31.126.45) (pf::dhcp::processor::parse_dhcp_request)
Mar 31 15:31:47 pfqueue(17607) INFO: [mac:b8:6b:23:53:16:b7] b8:6b:23:53:16:b7
requested an IP with the following informations: last_dhcp = 2017-03-31
15:31:47,computername = NJC109,dhcp_fingerprint = 1)

So the DHCP listener service definitely sees the DHCP messages.

At the pretty much the same time there is also the following messages in the
pfqueue logs:

Mar 31 15:31:48 pfqueue(17603) INFO: [mac:unknown] violation not added, MAC 0
is invalid! trigger internal::new_dhcp_info (pf::violation::violation_trigger)
Mar 31 15:31:49 pfqueue(17605) INFO: [mac:unknown] violation not added, MAC 0
is invalid! trigger internal::new_dhcp_info (pf::violation::violation_trigger)

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jonathan
