Hi,

Is anyone using PacketFence on the wired network and using port security traps, instead of RADIUS based methods like 802.1X and MAC Authentication Bypass?

As far as I know, PacketFence is one of the very few NAC solutions that still supports operation modes with Port Security and/or link state traps. We're considering moving from a commercial and very closed NAC solution (that primarily uses Port Security) to something new and we'd like to keep using the Port Security approach, especially for ports where eg building automation and security equipment is connected.

We can likely extend device support where needed, but I'm hoping that someone (either actively using this feature or from Akamai/Inverse) can help me get started to get this working on a single switch. Preferably a HP ProCurve (any model), but a Cisco Catalyst (9200L) would also be fine.
