This behavior is the same with the recent version.

With avidemux3 the QT4 interface is recommended. The GTK interface is

experimental one.
BTW: avidemux3 is still a little bit more buggy. Sometimes is crashes
while
scrolling in the video, sometimes it crashes, when jumping to the
start of the
video, sometimes it crashes, when start coding. So you should save the
project, whenever you changed something!
An unfortunately partial filters are still not provided and maybe
will never
be.
