Always remember to clear the other fields of the event record before
enqueueing the event, e.g.:

        MemSet (&event, sizeof(EventType), 0);

>       event.eType = appStopEvent;
>       EvtAddEventToQueue(&event);

This aids in future OS compatibility and should be done for all posted
events regardless of their type.
