hi,
I m working on this fact only ... this rages from serial communication to
WAP...
We r succeful to connect using Modems as well as with Direct Serial...
See, on Win NT workstation, V r capable to connect ( o dial up) using 2
modems, one at PC side, other at Palm side..
for this, U should set Modem trhu ur Control panel for ur Modem Type..
Also Set the RAS settings with proper IP addr Range. This works fine...
But it created me a problem for Direct Sr Commn.
But Direct Serial Commn Works perfetly with NT Server.
For this U need to set Modem Settings as "Dial-up Networking serial Cable
between 2 PCs" in Ur Modem Settings thru Control Panel..Now, set the RAS
Configuration...
Then, set the palm Preferences-Network : Its like this...
Services : Windows RAS
User Name: < whatever u decided and has permission in ur comp>
Password: <whatever u decided>
****** Imp ******
Connection: 1st select "WorkPad C3 Modem", with phone no "00" ..Say
Connect... while signing on, Cancel it...
This triggers the Modem Initialization signal...
Then select "Direct Serial" and say Connect... It signs on and Connection
gets established...

Hope This will help u...

Rest Best in Next...
MAbhijit.

Subject: Wireless PPP/RAS server for PalmV/VII

Hi. Sorry if this is a faq. I wonder if there is any
advice on setting up a server to take RAS or PPP
connections from Palm devices like Palm V or
PalmVII. Symbol device (work with "stock" FreeBSD
or Linux, even Windows NT?)? Then any modem
suggestions for PalmV or PalmVII?

I am interesed in setting up a small LAN testing
environment.

     Thanks,
