Well, not specifically. You may be remembering my rant about a year or so
ago. Palm implied non-MFC support so we could use other compilers. I think
the latest version of the Generic Conduit could be it. I haven't had time
to check it out but I would suggest all other developers who don't want to
use VC++ 5 or 6 to try the GC with their favorite compiler. Hopefully some
enterprising developers will port the GC to other platforms like VB and
Delphi.
The Generic Conduit is no longer in the 'unsupported' directory and looks
like you can even compile it with a x86 version of CodeWarrior. It should
be a trivial matter to create your own project in your favorite C++
compiler. For those unfamiliar with the concept of the 'Generic Conduit',
it was added as an unsupported code base to earlier versions of the CDK for
those of us who preferred not to use MFC.
If this thread must continue, maybe we should consider moving it to a more
appropriate mail list like the conduit developer mail list?
