Regarding which IDE to use: CodeWarrior and GCC are the two most common
environments used, so you'll probably be able to get more help with any
questions that arise if you use one of these two. Because you have
experience with Delphi, I think that you'd just go nuts trying to use GCC
with its loosely integrated set of tools. CodeWarrior comes much closer to
being an "integrated development environment". However, you will find that
CodeWarrior has several interesting quirks due to the fact that it started
life as a Mac program.
