I don't mind paying for new features and enhancements. I do mind paying for
something that should have worked properly in the first place. I have no
beef with the hard work the Metrowerks developer are putting into the
product.

If I pay for a model year 2000 car and it has defects, I expect those
defects to be addressed at the cost of the manufacturer. To use your
analogy, it would be like saying that people who bought Ford Explorers
should have to pay for the next model years vehicles (or %50) to get their
tires fixed. True, they get a new car, but is it worth it if the car isn't
all that much better than the one they already have? As palm developers,
very few of us get away with charging our customers with upgrade fees, so I
truly do understand "the cost of development".

I don't mean to sound petty, as I'm sure you don't mean to sound biased.
I'm sure we will end up buying it. I just wish there were either more
"major" enhancements to justify the %50 upgrade costs.
