> Come on Palm, stop treating everyone outside the US as different!

I don't know if it applies to this situation or not.. but distribution
channels for certain kinds of devices (especially those that have heavy
encryption routines) are restricted by the US Government.. therefore Palm
can't just wake up one day and say "We're going to open a new distribution
channel in Europe today." It takes time and paperwork. Encourage them that
it is worth their while to do the paperwork, but don't blame solely them
that it takes so long.

Also, don't ask me to defend my governments policies on this.. they are 50
year old policies that just don't apply to today's world economy. They were
created before the days of the Internet and before everyone in the world had
the kind of encryption knowledge that is taken for granted today.

With Palm's much publicized troubles in the market, though.. I wouldn't
expect them to spend a lot of time on creating a distribution channel for a
relatively small target audience (non-US developers .. the entire developer
pool is small, so any subset is even smaller).

These, of course, are all my opinion and should not be taken as speaking for
Palm. :)
