I'd recommend putting an error check after your "DmGetResource".
Also ...

looks like it should be
CharPtr unlock=(CharPtr)MemHandleLock(theListItems);
Or ...
theListItems = (Handle) SysFormPointerArrayToStrings( theRecPtr,
theListCount );
should be
gStringArrayH = (Handle) SysFormPointerArrayToStrings( theRecPtr,
theListCount );
