Depending on what version of Palm OS you're running, you could be tripping on the infamous "PrvFixUpPtrs" bug. Any time a new object was added to a form, the form grew and was possibly relocated. If Palm OS had to relocate the form, it also "adjusted" pointers within the form structure that pointed to other locations within the form. Unfortunately, it adjusted anything that LOOKED like a pointer. Sometimes text values "looked like" ptrs. Bummer. This was fixed in 3.5.2 (??)
