um.. thats a load of crap.
we used to exclusively *sell* on palmgear - until they screwed us big time and didn't pay (yes, you can ask many developers) - we were screwed extra because we actually went *exclusive*.
as such we refuse to sell on any ESD site - mainly because they are all run by a bunch of creedy pigs; thinking about how to make a quick buck instead of helping the developers who actually gave them a reason to exist in the first place.
30% commission? for what? credit card payments are 30c + 3%. if you do the math, even after taking out costs of bandwidth etc - 30% gives them quite a chunk of change in their pockets.
we actually have our own webstore using www.esellerate.net = great service, and we also accept payments over paypal. unless you are prepared to pay for advertising on ESD's - there is no real point to even listing your software there; people wont even find you.
