More than needed for what? Only your own purposes? You have to consider the OS may use them as well. For example, I believe nilEvents will occur each time the OS must flash the insertion point on or off in a field with the focus. You absolutely must check the timing yourself after seeing a nilEvent and ignore those which do not coorespond to what you want to process yourself.
