I appreciate your point, but unfortunately myself and many others do not have the financial ability to cover the costs of flying to California, booking hotel rooms and rental cars, in addition to the cost of the conference itself. I think the complexity of converting applications to Cobalt is highly specific to the application itself and what the aim of the developer is. Writing OS friendly code isn't always possible, nor is it desirable in every case.
