'fnav' has nothing to do with detecting the 5-way. It is a direction for the OS to handle 5-way on your non-modal forms.

For T3 it is the following feature: UInt32 version;
Err err = FtrGet(navFtrCreator, navFtrVersion, &version);
Don't know if it is the same for T5.
The strange thing is that this line works fine on the T5 simulator bundled as "TungstenT5_56REVB_Simulator_Rel_Build_24_07" running "AngusBinary_Release_Sim_efgs.rom" but when I run it on an actual T5 device, FtrGet returns "ftrErrNoSuchFeature"
