No leaks found.

Fans do go on.

After I added gas, I witnessed a lot of cycles of the cooling unit, and it was
working fine the whole time I was there.

I last checked again around 13:00SA time, and it was still working fine.

William, I think we should get that Frigotech guy who was working on the system
recently, back here to see what is going on. (early January 2015)

Please note that this cooling unit is still at risk, because I did not fix a
problem, I think I just postponed a problem.

I will suggest you try and keep the heat load as low as possible inside
Container, and as soon as you see temp rising, to turn off as much as you can
remotely.

It is very hot outside(40degC), and temperatures inside container really get
very high if things go wrong.

I will still be around beginning next week, but if there are similar issues
after this, please email the standby infrastructure technician, Neels
Hoek([email protected]), and ask him to turn off power to PAPER Container, and
then we will only be able to look further into this in the new year.

Hi Matthys,

That's good.

Could you detect any leaks (should leave an oily residue)?

Also, did you witness the condenser fans outside going on?

Best regards,
William

OK, I try to push in some gas into system.

Seems to be cooling now.

I did turn on all that I could manually from inside the Paper Container.

I will monitor for a while today to see if it manage to keep things cool inside.

OK Danny

I will only be on site tomorrow again, and try to see if I can get it cool
again.

Lets hope it is something easy.

Danke Matthys!

We don't have auto-shutdown on all racks partly because we can't bring it back
remotely and partly because the temperature box is not in the power control
loop. The ideal situation would turn off everything but a core of absolute
necessities (paper1, the switch, and the nti box are my first choices). We'll
look at our heat budget and try to come up with a 90% shutdown solution.

If you can turn on the three things I mentioned, we'll be able to monitor the
temperatures remotely.

Thanks,

~Danny

Hi

I still struggled to get the PAPER container temperature below 40degC, and had
to turn off all racks. We still did not find the problem on the cooling units.

I will attempt to re-gas this unit tomorrow when I have the required gauges and
stuff, and hopefully it will run for a while.

This might be risky, because our staff will be away for most of the time
between 24th Des and 5th Jan, and now that we know this unit is not 100%.

Is it possible to implement an auto shutdown of all rack when air temp reach a
certain value?

This work pretty well on one of our other containers.

Let’s see how things go tomorrow, and I will keep you up to date on my progress
and findings.
