One more historic note on Fordson. Old Henry wanted to build tractors under his Ford name, but another enterprising entrepreneur who understood well the value of name recognition, had decided to capitalize on the well known Ford name. He had a prominent employee named Ford, so he used that as an excuse to name his outfit the Ford Tractor Company. Henry couldn't overcome an already existing company. so went with Fordson, as he and his son were in it together.
