No, I'm not quite that old, but my TR3 I did buy new. One of my 34's
was bought new by my Grand Father who's first new car was bought in 1908
(a Mercer, to be specific). He decided I should learn to drive on that
car and we got busted for speeding in it. The judge threw the ticket out
since no car made in 1908 could go that fast. Oh, was he ever wrong.
=^-^= It was an utterly terrifying machine to drive since it had almost
no body, just seats on a frame and the brakes were mechanical and more a
suggestion than something which could actually stop the thing.
cat
(who's Grand Father was mad as a hatter and totally awesome)
