I buy some 9" x 12" cardstock from OfficeWorld.com and trim it to A4 size.
The trimmings can be used for joining strips or whatever else you can think
of. The prices are OK and the cardstock gets delivered the next day
usually. An order of $49 or more gets free shipping. Seems like a lot to
spend to get free shipping, but you can go through that cardstock real
quick. Make sure you order the white and not the manila. Trimming to A4
helps with maintaining proper margins if you do two sided printing to get
color on the back of a part.

Input tagboard in the first search box (the yellow one)

Pacon tagboard
PAC5211 by Pacon Heavyweight Tagboard, 12 x 9, White, 100/Pack @ $6.49/PK
is close to 252 gsm and might not go through the printer correctly.

PAC5281 by Pacon Medium Weight Tagboard, 12 x 9, White, 100/Pack @ $5.29/PK
is close to 65# / 177 gsm cardstock.
