Steffen, Yes, perl2exe can provide cross-platform compiling. There is one version for Windows that only does Windows, but there is also another version for Windows that does Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD, etc... It's really quite nice, however, I have no idea how they accomplish this. I guess that's why it's closed source and commerical.
