AutoLoader is part of the core Perl distribution. However, I found a bug somewhen and AutoLoader was subsequently made "dual-lived", i.e. a module that has a version on CPAN and in the Perl core. The CPAN module and the core of the current development version of Perl are kept in sync. The CPAN version is sort of an "upgrade" to older Perls.
The higher (5.63) version of AutoLoader was made a requirement to fix a bug which was triggered by PAR.
