embed_api2 branch: 'make fulltest' failures

Today I ran 'make fulltest' on the embed_api2 branch at commit 2ae8f5a05 on Linux/i386. While 'make test' completed successfully, errors were noted in other targets. The failures in 'make testr' are probably the most serious. See attachment for full log.
