Weird, IIRC there's code in the toplevel packages that checks for
version skew and refuses to run if it's noticed...  (This is intended
to be a temporary measure, but it's useful for now since the pieces
are in such flux.)

Well, that won't *hurt*, but if it doesn't help then you could follow
the debugging instructions I sent to the last person (who never got
back to us, alas):

If you're using the latest head, then you need to add '--debug all' to
the xpra commands, since the default spew has been dialed way down.
