I think it's a question of what you mean by "worth taking"...

I took the exam and also served on the EC-Council scheme committee for two
years working on programs around the exam and continuing education credits. Is
it like going to a SANS class where you're going to learn a ton of stuff and
become some kind of security expert? No. It's not meant to be that. It's a
good "mile wide and inch deep" look into security concepts and penetration
testing to get you started. And the exam fee isn't bad relative to some other
security certs. It's not a bad thing to have on your resume at all, and is a
nice compliment to other skillsets.

Hello Pat,

I passed it 2y ago "because I had the opportunity"...
It was still the old version which was already outdated.
I learned by myself and just bought the voucher to attend the exam.

Like most certifications, some companies look for them on your resume, other
don't care.

Honestly, it's not difficult but the "ROI" was not as much as expected...

/x

Hi,

Im seriously thinking of doing the CEH exams and was hope there is someone here
who can answer a question or two.

Have you found it a valuable exercise?

Did you do it self Study or taught?

Im thinking of doing it as home study.

What is the difference between the EU and US course-ware?

Is it worth the additional cost to do the European course-ware (if possible)
since I may return to Europe one day?
im looking to which one is applicable to Australia(current residence).

Thanks,
Pat
