Ya Matome!

I haven't heard from you for quite a long time.

The context of your email does not seem to react to my specific input.
There has been a concerted and persistent anti-pac rhetoric being written
again and again. In the past the party never really responded to it. The
problem is that some of the people end up believing some of this
propagandas, half truth and misrepresentation about the party. In our
respond we are putting the party view and position and correct some of the
incorrect positions. It is important that you read my intervention in this
context.

I am not going to respond to everything you wrote but I will deal with some
of the issues you are rising.

The organizational position of the party has not changed. In party
building, we do ensure that people join the party and participate in the
structures of the party at the right level, namely branches. We encourage
it as in the founding documents of the party and still it is, that there are
branch programmes and that leaders must start there. experience shows that
most of the leaders who doesn't start at the branch level at some stage
desert the party or attempt to break the party.

We discourage loose members who belong to no branch and are only interested
in national issues and national leadership. Party leadership is at
different levels. You cannot overlook all this leaders and only focus on
what you call Letlapa and myself. It is exactly what we are correcting.
Party leadership is at four important levels, namely branch, region,
province and national. We cannot just focus on national leadership.

Yes I agree with you, party national leadership is important, but where does
it starts?

Gone are the days where national leadership was decided outside the party
structures. Gone are the days of ghost branches. This is the message we
are putting across, if you differ with this message, tell us why.

We cannot have a national congress without having regional and provincial
congresses. If you follow this line of match you will know where to go and
what to discuss at what level. You are familiar with the party constitution
I don't have to teach you.

Programme of action

I did outline the current programme of action which we believe should take
the PAC to the Centre stage of South African Politics. Looking backward,
particularly since 1994, the party never developed a clear programme of
action on how to move forward. There has never been serious political
debate in the party even during your time as a member of the NEC.

The focus was much on petty-issues and personalities. I am not talking
office position, I talk structures and programme. There is a tendency of
the africanists to talk big and do absolutely nothing. The current
president and his leadership talk little and do much, that is the different.
All big talkers and arm-chair politicians hates him but that cannot change
anything.

You refer me to some organizations by their names, come and take me to their
branches then you will be serious in what you are talking about . we do not
have PAC members being part of the structures you are referring me to. What
we all know is that you must be a member of the PAC first, before you can be
a member of any of its component structures. Maybe I am wrong, you are
right, Provide us with their branches and their leadership. Regions and
their leadership, the provinces and their leadership. You are likely to
give me names of individuals at national level, frankly speaking that are
not party organizations, party organizations starts at grass-roots level.

There are many theories of leadership and different opinions on what is
right and wrong. What is important and urgent for PAC at the moment is to
build itself and move to the centre. Our programmes are taking us there! so
what? Cde Matome, we don't look backward, we look forward. Our attitude is
what happened and we can't change the past. We can only take lessons from
the past but we can't go forward looking backward.

Cde Mashao leadership is provided. By now party members knows where they
stand and where the party is going. There is no confusion on those issues.
People who want to come and talk are welcomed including yourself. There is
no one who is being prevented from contributing or imputing to the party in
any manner whatsoever. Let people don't misunderstand me, I don't say
everything is right and perfect. I infact admitted that a lot still need to
be done and more and more people need to be involved.

What I am saying is that the party has capacity to solve its own problems
internally and it is willing to do so.

The man who says it cannot be done must not interrupt the one is busy doing
it.
