FYI

Regional Conference in Singapore:
RECYCLING AND ALTERNATE SOURCES FOR THE WAFER/PCB INDUSTRIES

Organized and supported by:
US-Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP)
Environmental Technology Institute (ETI)

This two-day conference will cover world class state-of-the-art recycling,
reuse and reclaim technology for use by the semiconductor and PCB
Manufacture Industries.

It has been organized to update local and regional participants from the
related industries on best practices, new technologies, current trends and
directions that are crucial to the industries.

These include membrane processes, carbon beds, ion exchange,
micro-filtration, different advanced oxidation processes and electrochemical
technologies, with emphasis on applications covering organics, particulate
and heavy metal removal.

The conference will also feature various waste management schemes for
reducing water usage or water recycling, as well as latest monitoring
technologies for trace analysis.

The production of NEWater From secondary sewage effluent will also be
presented by the PUB and highlights on the quality of water and its
compatibility for use in the wafer/PCB industries

There will be international speakers from the USA, Europe, Taiwan and Japan.

Site Visit: A Visit to a demonstration plant at Bedok for the production of
water for industrial use from treated sewage effluent has been organized for
interented participants.

Date and Venue : July 11-12, 2001 at Grand Hyatt Singapore

Cost-Share :
The conference fee has been waived for US-AEP participant. Participants are
expected to cover their international airfares and hotel accommodation,
while US-AEP will cover the perdiems during the conference.
