You can plug in a dual jack which is one that has 2 1/8 inch females, the other end has a male plug which is also 1/8 inch that goes into where your speakers plug in normally. Then you plug in 2 different ear plug, not head phones but ear plug the kind we used to get with little am radios, I think that may work, if not sorry about, you may have to get a splitter for your sound card if there is such a thing. I would like to find some bigger speakers for my computer and use the ones it came with for a walkman. I hope that I have been some help. Dave Hutchins

It sounds as though you are both talking about connecting two devices and
hearing the sound output through one set of phones, right? I was trying to
say that this is what I now have and it works fine for my present purposes.
However, the question I had was how to split the channels of a multichannel
soundcard so that software speech is heard in one ear and other sounds in
the other? I guess I don't understand what you mean about two input jacks,
Dave, since my computer configuration is the typical headphones, mic, linein
lineout setup with the speakers in back. If you are talking about requiring
two input jacks, I don't understand the process. Maybe this is a guy thing,
smile, because this is usually my reaction when my son tries explaining this
stuff to me, and I'm not even quite sure what my next question is.Would the
use of my mixer allow me to do this even if I can't normally? Also, would I
have to change anything in my multimedia properties or whatever? Can't you
tell I'm one of those users who plugs in and turns on but is generally
clueless, or at least seem to be about this. again, many thanks.
